The Stones Would Cry Out

“When you see a colt that hasn’t been ridden, bring it here.” What were the disciples thinking at this point?  Why?  What is going on?  Read the account of ‘The Triumphal Entry’ into Jerusalem in Luke 19:28-44 and be amazed at the events that occurred.  As Jesus rode into Jerusalem, the people shouted praise to God—they knew this time was very special.

The jealousy, however, of the religious nuts (Pharisees) grew all the more and told Jesus to rebuke His disciples.  Jesus’ answer was simple and profound, “If these guys keep quiet, the stones would cry out.” (to praise & worship Him)  They didn’t recognise the day as significant nor that God had entered the city.  But instead, the religious leaders, corrupt to the core, were blind to the truth.  They failed to receive revelation from the Holy Spirit.

It is easy for us in hindsight to ask how didn’t they recognise who Jesus really was but when we think we have worked it all out, we too, can fall into the trap of spiritual blindness.  When we allow jealousy to control our attitude and our thought life, spiritual blindness is inevitable.

Don’t fall into that same trap.  It is serious when the dead, hard cold stones begin to cry out praises to our Lord instead of us.  Stay right before God, willing to do whatever He calls us to do and go wherever He calls us to go.  The events that followed changed the course of world history.  Praise God we didn’t have to be there and make the choice but each day, we do have too.  Some days it is tough to praise God.  Some days we find it almost impossible BUT if we don’t maybe the stones would cry out.

God bless you as you remember this momentous day of the Lord.

Love you all, Pastor Daren
